The HAF 604 核安全法规 (He Anquan Fagui) certification is mandatory for companies planning to export nuclear facilities and their components to China. The aim of this certification is to achieve a better assessment and control of imported hazardous goods. This will allow greater supervision and safety for the civilian use of nuclear power.

Which product categories are HAF 604 obligatory?

Several components of nuclear facilities are subject to HAF 604. The components of a nuclear power plant can be divided into two main classes according to the corresponding regulations:

Nuclear safety for electrical equipment regulates the electrical components around the nuclear power plant, for example: cables, motors, transformers.
Nuclear safety for mechanical equipment regulates the mechanical components around the nuclear power plant, for example: compressors, safety valves.

Which regulations exist in connection to HAF 604?

HAF 604 is based on the "Regulations on the Supervision and Administration of Civilian Nuclear Safety Equipment". Many rules and laws are based on these regulations, which define the categories and steps of the registration.
NNSA (National Nuclear Safety Administration) is the executive organization. The regional bureaus of the "China Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision Station" are also partially responsible for the registration process.
