Import of small quantities also possible without CCC.
On 13 May 2016, BJCIQ[1], the customs authority responsible for the Beijing region, published for the first time a procedure for the application of the TPP[2] procedure, under which CCC-liable goods may be imported in small quantities even without CCC certification if they meet certain conditions.
With the introduction of the procedure, a uniform procedure is made considerably easier.
Complete vehicles are excluded from this procedure. The CNCA#38, 2008 notice lists the products that can be imported using the TPP process and the maximum quantities that can be imported. The application documents must be submitted to the competent customs authority, which will then check them for correctness and completeness within 10 days.
Accepted applications are assigned a process number and samples for non-destructive testing are taken from the delivery.
Once all the required formalities have been successfully completed, the import permit is issued. It is valid for one month from the date of issue and entitles to an import transaction.
The customs authority is also responsible for checking the whereabouts of the imported products.
