On November 12, 2020, the National Institutes for Food and Drug Control (NIFDC), the Center for Medical Device Standards Management of NMPA, released 7 technical draft proposals for detecting chemical agents and the evaluation of efficacy claims in cosmetic products:
- Methods for the detection of boric acid and borate in cosmetics (draft)
- Methods for the detection of 32 hair dyes such as p-phenylenediamine in cosmetics (draft)
- Methods for the detection of 15 hair dyes including 2-amino-4-hydroxyethylaminoanisole sulfate in cosmetics (draft)
- Methods for the detection of retinoic acid and its derivatives in cosmetics (draft)
- In vitro mammalian cell micronucleus test (draft)
- Evaluation method for the cosmetic efficacy of freckle whitening (draft)
- Evaluation method for the cosmetic efficacy of anti-hair loss (draft)
The flurry of draft proposals follows hot on the heels of the introduction of the new CSAR this year.
