Various Updates on China’s Health Food Regulations

On October 31, the SAMR (State Administration for Market Regulation) issued 3 technical guidelines concerning health food and its ingredients:

  • Technical guidelines for the toxicology inspection and safety evaluation
  • Technical guidelines for the safety inspection and evaluation of strains used in health food ingredients
  • Technical guidelines for the examination and evaluation of the physicochemical properties and hygienic indicators of health food products
